What's New in Ironclad: August 2026

Certificate of Completion

You can now include provider-generated Certificates of Completion with executed signature packets in Ironclad. Ironclad Signature includes them by default, and for DocuSign, Adobe Sign, and Dropbox Sign, you can control certificate inclusion at the integration level, with certificates off by default unless you enable them. When enabled, Ironclad automatically retrieves and stores the certificate with the executed packet so you can download it and sync it to downstream systems such as Salesforce.

Fill Launch Form Table with Spreadsheet Data

Previously, if you managed launch data in a spreadsheet, you had to enter that information manually into dynamic table fields on the Launch Form. You can now upload a CSV or XLSX file to automatically populate a dynamic table, which makes it faster to complete Launch Forms and reduces manual entry.

You can now preview table data before submitting, clear all table data when needed, and hide or collapse dynamic table rows to make the form easier to review and complete.

This functionality is also available in Intake Agent.

Smart Import UI Improvements

We’ve made minor UI updates to Smart Import, including:

• a new progress bar for Imports
• an improved progress banner for Extract Metadata
• improved sidebar for both Imports and Extract Metadata

Customize Approver Instructions

You can now add workflow properties and rich text to approval instructions in approval request and reminder emails, as well as on the workflow. You can also choose to add signature packet documents to the emails. You can configure these in Workflow Designer for future workflows or add them directly in a workflow for a specific approver. Approvers see the instructions in their approval email, where they can reply to approve or open the workflow in Ironclad for more context.

Word Add-In V2

The Microsoft Word Add-In now surfaces CLM context from Ironclad directly in the Microsoft Word side panel. Writers can now see who else is editing, a version indicator, and an upload sync confirmation with a last-synced timestamp.

We’ve also added an internal comment mode that automatically prepends “[Internal]” to comments, and a persistent View in Ironclad workflow link.

These updates reduce version conflicts and lower the risk of exposing sensitive internal comments to counterparties. 

Use Multiple Signature Provider Integrations Simultaneously

Customers can now connect multiple eSignature providers in a single Ironclad instance, such as two DocuSign accounts or Docusign and Adobe Sign, removing the previous one-provider-per-instance limit. This update supports regional compliance needs and organizations managing multiple signature vendors after mergers or acquisitions.

Here’s what’s new:

• Manage multiple providers in one place: a new dedicated Signature Integrations page under Company Settings > Integrations > Manage eSignature accounts to connect, rename, relink/unlink, and set a default across up to 20 providers.
• Choose the provider per workflow: the Sign step now lists every connected provider plus Ironclad Signature. Route to different providers by adding separate Sign steps and using workflow conditions like Region or Contract Value.

Note: Admins must select one signature provider to act as the default signature provider for their instance.
 

Exclude Documents from Signature Packets in Workflow Designer

You can now set whether each document in a workflow is included in the signature packet by default. In the Sign step's settings, Signature Packet Documents is now organized into Included in Signature Packet and Excluded from Signature Packet sections. You can drag-and-drop documents between the two sections.

Excluded documents remain part of the workflow. Approvers can still see them, but they aren't sent for signature. Existing workflow configurations carry over and don't need to be reconfigured. 

Intake Agent Improvements

Intake Agent has several improvements in R5.

• Review and accept suggested answers. Intake Agent now suggests answers to your launch form questions. You review each suggestion and accept the ones you want to keep. 

• Run Intake Agent on any file upload question. Previously, Intake Agent ran only on a single upload field. It now runs on custom file upload questions across your launch form, so it works regardless of how your admins have configured the form. Intake Agent runs on each file as you upload it.

• Simplified launch form experience. Choosing your paper is now integrated into the launch form, instead of being a separate step. 

• Admin enablement has moved. Admins now enable Intake Agent from Company Settings, using the Ironclad Agents toggle and selecting the workflows it applies to.

• Refreshed documents viewer. You can click the documents icon in the top right corner to expand the new documents viewer. This is where you'll be able to see all of the uploaded documents in your launch form. 

New Ironclad Assistant Page

Ironclad Assistant can now be accessed on its own page in Ironclad. Assistant gives you a single place to ask questions about your contracts and workflows in plain language, in addition to the existing chat widget. Select Assistant in the top navigation bar to open it at any time. 

Assistant is not your home page by default. If you want Ironclad to open to Assistant, select Set Assistant as default home. This setting applies to your account only, and you can turn it off at any time.

OOTB Insights Reports for Legal Ops and Procurement

We're adding two out-of-the-box Insights reports so customers can access common operational dashboards without building them from scratch. These pre-built reports appear in the Insights page and are designed to give Legal Ops and Procurement teams faster access to commonly used metrics with less manual setup.

What's new:

• Legal Ops report focused on operational metrics such as cycle time and turn tracking.
• Procurement Ops report focused on spend, pipeline, and portfolio exposure. 

New Property Types: Single Select Lists and Multi Select Lists

Ironclad now supports two new property types for records and enables them for use platform-wide, not just in workflows. 

• Single Select Lists: Users must select one item from the list.
• Multi Select Lists: Users can select one or more items from the list. You can have up to 1000 options per list.

Single Select Lists

Use a single select list when a user should choose exactly one value from a defined list. Common examples:

• Governing Law
• Contract Tier
• Approval Path

Multi Select Lists

Use a multi select list when a user should be able to choose more than one value from the same list. Common examples:

• Regions
• Product Lines
• Business Units

Admins can define a fixed list of allowed values, and users can pick answers from that list. These values map across connected systems like Salesforce, Coupa, and NetSuite. 

New Setting: Hide Counterparty Label in Ironclad Signature

Admins can now remove the counterparty label that appears next to signer names during signing. When enabled, the counterparty name is omitted from the signer view and signature-request emails.

This is useful for multi-party agreements where signers represent different organizations. Previously, counterparty signers could appear under a single company label, which could show a signer the wrong organization. Turning this setting on removes the label so signers are never shown a misleading association.

To turn off counterparty labels:

1. Log into Ironclad and click your profile icon in the top right corner.
2. Select Company Settings. 
3. Click Settings.
4. Under Ironclad Signature, toggle on the Hide counterparty name in Ironclad Signature setting.
