| Permissions | Workflow activity notifications are available to users who have access to a workflow as participants, through workflow access permissions, or by being @mentioned, which grants them access to that single workflow. |
What are workflow activity notifications?
Workflow activity notifications help keep everyone involved in a workflow informed about what needs their attention and what has changed. If you participate in a workflow as an owner, reviewer, signer, or another participant, you receive notifications in Ironclad, which appear on the Notifications page in the top-right corner under the bell icon. In some cases, you also receive an email.
If you start a workflow, you become the workflow owner and receive activity notifications for that workflow in-app and by email. Other participants may also receive notifications depending on their role and the actions taken in the workflow.
Workflow Activity Notification Types
Ironclad sends four main types of workflow activity notifications. Emoji reactions do not trigger in-app notifications or email notifications.
If you want a detailed list of what notifications exist and under what circumstances they are sent, refer to When Are Email Notifications Sent?
Assigned to me
Assigned to me notifications let you know when your action is required in a workflow, such as reviewing, approving, signing, or completing another assigned task.
@mentions
@mention notifications let you know when another user mentions you in a comment or sends you a reminder.
Keep in mind that you can @mention any Ironclad user into a single workflow. When you do this, that user is granted permission to view that workflow. This action cannot be undone, which means their access to view that workflow cannot be removed.
Reminders
Reminder notifications prompt you when action is required on your part.
Activity
Activity notifications keep you up to date on the status of workflows you are involved in. These notifications are informational and generally do not require you to take action.
