Get Started Using Contract Review Agent

Start a Contract Review Agent Chat

1. Click the Agent page in the top navigation bar in Ironclad.

2. Click Contract Review Agent at the bottom of the Ironclad Agent home page.

   

3. Enter your instructions, or click Prompt Library to select from the prompt library. To learn more about customizing prompts, see Customize Your Prompt Library.
4. To attach files, choose one of the following:
   • Add from playbooks: Select an approved playbook from the Playbook Library to guide the review or redline.
   • Add from repository: Attach a document already stored in your Ironclad repository, such as an executed agreement to use as precedent context.
   • Upload from your device: Attach a local file from your computer.
   • Choose from prompt library: Insert a saved prompt, including personal, company-wide, or Ironclad-provided prompts, rather than writing instructions from scratch.
5. To enhance your prompt, click Enhance (magic wand icon). Contract Review Agent will improve the wording, which you can then edit as needed.
   
6. Click Send. Contract Review Agent processes your request and displays the results in a new tab. The redlines are color-coded for easy identification:
   • Blue: AI Redlines
   • Red: User Redlines
   • Green: Third-Party Redlines
7. You can send another message with additional requests and Contract Review Agent will complete them, keeping the previous messages as context.
8. To hide the chat window, click the Collapse arrow.
   

Edit Sections of a Contract

After carrying out an initial request, you can ask Contract Review Agent to edit specific sections of your contract.

1. Highlight the section you want Contract Review Agent to edit.
2. Click Edit with prompt. You are redirected to the chat box where ‘Edit in selection’ displays as a tag.
3. Enter your instructions and click Send. Contract Review Agent carries out your request and displays the redlines in highlighted text.
4. You can toggle on/off the redlines by clicking Show redlines. If you download the contract, the redlines are shown as red text.

Download Contract Review Agent’s Output

You can download a .docx version of the Contract Review Agent’s output.

1. In the tab where Contract Review Agent’s output is located, click the Download button.
2. Select whether you want the Format to be PDF or DOCX.
3. Select who the Author of the AI Edits is. You can select from Contract Review Agent or yourself.
4. Click Download.
5. The content is downloaded. You can find the file in your browser and computer Downloads folder. The downloaded file's name matches the title of the tab in Ironclad.

Accept/Reject Changes

You can accept or reject individual changes made by Contract Review Agent by clicking on the suggested change and then clicking Accept changes or Reject changes.

Provide Contract Review Agent with Feedback

After Contract Review Agent generates an output, you can provide feedback as to whether or not it was helpful by clicking the thumbs up or thumbs down icons. This feedback will help tailor the AI model to improve over time.
