This article will walk you through how to search the Dashboard.
Use Case
A user wants to construct a precise Dashboard search beyond simple text matching, using boolean, proximity, or exact-match syntax to narrow results by document text and properties.

Use the Search Bar
Note:
For natural-language questions about contracts and workflows, use Ironclad Assistant. This article covers Dashboard search syntax, connectors, filters, and exact-match searching.
You can complete advanced searches in your Dashboard using syntax similar to search commands and connectors. You can use boolean search, proximity search, and exact search to customize your queries. Include a space before each search connector or operator, and a space after every connector or operator except -, (), and "".
The Dashboard searches through both document text and properties.
You can also search using natural language, asking queries like "Find NDAs with governing law California that expire in the next 12 months" to apply filters automatically.
Search for Specific Workflows or Records
To search only within records or workflows, first apply the Stage filter on your dashboard.
- For records, select Completed and Imported.
- For workflows, select one or more stages, such as Create, Review, Sign, or Archive.
Snippets in Searches for Records
If you search in the Dashboard, any view that contains records (i.e. All, All records, or a custom view) returns matching text snippets, showing a sample with highlighting of the matching text.
Search Connectors
Search connectors and expanders enable you to customize your Dashboard searches.
When you search your Dashboard, Ironclad includes results for matches in workflow/record titles and properties. If a single title or property matches your search query, it is included in your search results.
Note:
We also support most of LexisNexis' search commands and connectors, though we do not document them all here.
