This article goes over how to upload multiple documents during the Review step of a workflow. You can add additional documents, rename them, remove them, and upload new versions as negotiations progress. You can also view redlines and use the Ironclad Editor to update all of these documents and versions.
Use Case
Your negotiation now spans several documents and you need to manage all of them in one workflow while keeping the signature packet accurate.

By default, the upload permission can be set one of two basic ways:
Admins can configure Advanced upload permissions to allow specific users or groups to upload documents:
If you don’t have upload permission, you’ll be able to see the Upload button, but won’t be able to interact with it. |
How Additional Documents Interact with the Signature Packet
Additional documents uploaded at the Review step are included as part of the signature packet and require the signature coordinator to place signature tags before sending them out for eSignature.

During the Review step, you can choose which documents are included in or excluded from the signature packet in Workflow Designer. Users with access to Workflow Designer can drag documents into the Included or Excluded list under Signature Packet Documents in the Sign tab, and can add file attachments to the packet from the same section. Upload Multiple Documents
To upload multiple documents during the Review step:
- Select the workflow you want to edit to open its overview page.
- Next to Documents, click Upload.
- Click the Add Additional Documents button (plus icon).

Select a file and upload it to the signature packet.
- Note: To rename the document, click the vertical ellipsis icon next to the document and select Rename.
- In the After updating… section, select whether or not you would like to change turns and reset approvals:
- Select whether you'd like to change the turn to your counterparty or company. This is useful if you want to reflect that the turn has changed from being counterparty to company, or vice versa.
- If you are an administrator or workflow manager, select whether or not you want to reset all approvals. This is useful if the changes represent material changes that you want all parties to review the document again.
- Include a comment about the change in the Comment field.
- Click Submit.
To upload a new version of an existing document in the signature packet:
- Select the workflow you want to edit to open its overview page.
- Next to Documents, click Upload.
- Click Upload New Version next to the document you’re updating.
- Select a file and upload it to the signature packet.
- In the After updating… section, select whether or not you would like to change turns and reset approvals:
- Select whether you'd like to change the turn to your counterparty or company. This is useful if you want to reflect that the turn has changed from being counterparty to company, or vice versa.
- If you are an administrator or workflow manager, select whether or not you want to reset all approvals. This is useful if the changes represent material changes that you want all parties to review the document again.
- Include a comment about the change in the Comment field.
- Click Submit.
