AI Credits Transition to Paid Usage on September 1, 2026: Starting September 1, 2026, eligible AI agents will move from the current uncapped trial to credit-based usage. Each eligible agent action will use a set number of AI Credits from your account’s shared balance. Your platform edition may include AI Credits, and you can purchase additional credits as your usage grows. After your included balance is depleted, additional AI agent usage will incur a cost through pre-purchased credits, on-demand billing or pause until more credits are added, depending on your account settings. Credit rates vary by agent and action. AI Credits apply to eligible agents such as Renewal Agent, Intake Agent, and Archive Agent. They do not apply to every AI-powered feature in Ironclad. Production and Non-Production Instances
Activity in production instances consumes AI Credits and reduces the shared production balance. Demo instances do not currently consume AI Credits.
If you are unsure whether an instance is a production or demo instance, contact your Ironclad account team before using an AI agent there.
Shared Pool Across Production Instances
All eligible AI agent activity in your production instances draws from the same account-level balance.
For example, if your organization has three production instances, activity in any of them reduces the same shared pool. You do not need to manage a separate AI Credit balance for each instance.
Monitor the Shared Balance
Administrators can see a consolidated view of the pooled AI Credit balance across production instances. They can also review usage by agent and monitor overall consumption trends.

Restrict Usage by User or Instance
AI Credits are pooled at the organization level. You cannot manage separate credit pools or restrict a specific user or production instance from drawing on the shared pool.
