Enable the Archive Agent and choose which workflows use it. An admin can turn the setting on or off in Company Settings and select whether the agent runs on workflows configured for manual archive or auto-archive.

Use Case

Use this article to enable the Archive Agent in Company Settings and select the workflows it should process. At Classics Inc., an administrator wants the Archive Agent to process executed vendor agreements for the workflows used by the legal team and applies it to all workflows or a selected subset.

Prerequisites

Features	Woprkflows, Ironclad Assistant, Archive Agent
Permissions	To enable the Archive Agent, an admin must have permission to access Company Settings. To use the Archive Agent, the user must have permission to archive the workflow.

Ironclad Early Access Program: This feature is in Early Access and may change before it is generally available. If you interested in this feature, please reach out to your Ironclad representative or Support to see if you're eligible for EAP access.

Enable/Access: Starting September 1, 2026, eligible AI agents move from the current uncapped trial to credit-based usage. Each Archive Agent action uses AI Credits from your account's shared balance. If your account has hard caps enabled and runs out of AI Credits, the Archive Agent will not run automatically in the background. For more information, see AI Credits in Ironclad.

Turn On the Archive Agent

To enable the Archive Agent for your company:

Select your profile icon in the top-right corner, then go to Company Settings > Ironclad AI > Archive Agent.
Under Ironclad Agents, toggle on the option to Use Archive Agent to assist with archiving workflows.
Select All workflows (current and future) or select a subset of workflows for the Archive Agent.

When this setting is on, the Archive Agent will automatically extract properties on your workflow during the archive stage so that your properties are in sync with your executed contract. If you have auto-archived enabled on your workflow, it will suggest extracted values for the archiver to review.

Turn Off the Archive Agent

To disable the Archive Agent for your company:

Select your profile icon in the top-right corner, then go to Company Settings > Ironclad AI > Archive Agent.
Turn off Use archive agent to assist with archiving workflows.

The Archive Agent no longer runs automatically in the background for workflows selected in the setting.
