AI Credits Transition to Paid Usage on September 1, 2026: Starting September 1, 2026, eligible AI agents will move from the current uncapped trial to credit-based usage. Each eligible agent action will use a set number of AI Credits from your account’s shared balance. Your platform edition may include AI Credits, and you can purchase additional credits as your usage grows. After your included balance is depleted, additional AI agent usage will incur a cost through pre-purchased credits, on-demand billing or pause until more credits are added, depending on your account settings. Credit rates vary by agent and action. AI Credits apply to eligible agents such as Renewal Agent, Intake Agent, and Archive Agent. They do not apply to every AI-powered feature in Ironclad. AI Credit Provisioning
When Ironclad processes an eligible purchase, it adds the related credits to your shared account balance automatically.
You do not need to submit a request or complete a manual setup step. If credits do not appear after a purchase is processed, contact Ironclad Support.
Existing Platform Customers
Customers on a Platform edition receive a set amount of platform-included AI Credits. These credits are added to the shared account balance at the start of each contract year.
The amount depends on the Platform edition. If customers need more AI credits, they can buy more credit packs or use them in an on-demand basis.
Non-Platform Legacy Customers
If you are a legacy customer not on a Platform edition, your current pricing does not include ongoing AI Credits. Your transition to ongoing included credits has three steps:
- Trial access: You can use eligible AI agents during the trial, which ends September 1st, 2026.
- Bridge grant: After the trial ends, Ironclad provides a one-time AI Credit grant.
- Platform migration: You shift to a Platform edition pricing model, which comes with a) Platform-included AI credits and b) ongoing access to additional AI credits.
Bridge Grant
The bridge grant gives you time to use AI agents, review your usage, and plan accordingly to incorporate a Platform edition. It begins after your trial ends on September 1, 2026, and covers approximately two to three months of typical use.
The bridge grant is a one-time allocation and does not renew while you remain on a non-Platform legacy plan.
When Your Bridge Grant Runs Out
When your bridge grant runs out, access to AI agents that use credits pauses. To continue using these agents, move to an a Platform edition.
