Use Case
Classics Inc. uses a local condition in its Sales Order Form workflow to control language and approvals that only apply to that specific process. For example, the legal operations team creates a condition that checks whether a security addendum should appear when a buyer selects a particular product package and indicates that customer data will be processed. Because this logic is only relevant to the Sales Order Form workflow and its specific documents, questions, and approval steps, Classics Inc. keeps it as a local condition instead of making it reusable across all workflows.

To view, use, and edit local conditions in Workflow Designer, you must have Workflow Designer access. To view and use global conditions, you must have Workflow Designer access. To manage and edit global conditions, you must have administrator access or the group permissions Global Conditions Manager = Yes. |
Create a Local Condition in Workflow Designer
- Click the Workflow Designer tab, then select the workflow configuration you want to add a local condition to.
- In the Attributes panel on the left, click the Add icon > Condition > Create new condition.
- Enter a Name. This is what will display within the sidebar in Workflow Designer.
- Define the Rules for your condition. This logic determines what triggers action in a workflow configuration once you apply it. You can build these rules using properties, other conditions, and formulas, and you can add multiple rules if needed.
- Click the Details tab and add a Description for your condition. Use this description to help Workflow Designer users understand when to use the condition.
- Click Save. The condition is available in that specific workflow configuration in Workflow Designer.
