Summary
This article walks you through how to undo an approval in a workflow.
Use Case
At Classics Inc., an Ironclad admin updates a workflow after a Finance approver has already approved it and needs to remove that approval so Finance can review the latest changes. During the Review step, the admin undoes the Finance approver’s completed approval so the approval is marked incomplete again and the approver can re-review the workflow. This is useful when the workflow has changed and the team wants to make sure the previous approval no longer applies to the updated version.
Prerequisites
| Features | Workflows |
| Permissions | To undo an approval, you must be an Admin, the Workflow Owner, or an approver on the workflow. |
Undo an Approval
Click on the Dashboard tab and select the workflow you want to modify. To undo an approval, you must be on the Review step of the workflow.
Locate the review section and click the three stacked dots next to the approval you want to undo. Click Undo approval.
Note: If your workflow has Collect approvals in order configured in Workflow Designer, approvers can only approve when it is their turn. However, this setting does not prevent an earlier approver from later selecting Undo Approval after later approvers have already approved.
