This article will explain how to use Playbooks in workflows and contract reviews. This includes how to resolve suggestions individually. If your organization has access to AI Assist, you may use AI Assist to apply all suggestions at once. Refer to the AI Assist Overview for more information.
Required Permissions: User or group must have Playbook view, edit or create access; Ironclad Editor access
-
In Ironclad, click the Dashboard tab.
-
Click Start Workflow and select the workflow template you want to create the workflow from. The workflow launches and allows you to enter the information needed to initiate the agreement.
-
Once you've launched your workflow, AI Playbooks will automatically read, analyze, and flag any non-standard terms or necessary document changes based on your configuration in Workflow Designer before the workflow receives approval. From the workflow page, AI Playbooks offer users two options to review document terms that need attention or review:
-
In the Review section, click on Review Clause to review a clause that is assigned to you for review.
-
To quickly review all content flagged by AI Playbooks that needs revisions or changes, in the Documents sections, click on the red status pill. You are taken to the document previewer. Clause error pills display in red. When you select a document, the Doc Preview shows a banner with the clause error details. The message adapts based on your edit permissions.
- You can review the list of terms that require attention in the detailed Clauses list located on the right hand sidebar beneath the Properties section. Quick links are provided to each term.
-
-
Only have a PDF document? You can use Ironclad Editor to convert PDF documents into DOCX format so you can use AI Playbooks. From there, you can immediately start using Ironclad AI and AI Playbooks, without having to wait for a DOCX file from your counterparty.
-
From the workflow page, users can click the View button to review all flagged language in the document that requires changes. These modifications should be made before approving the document, as per the Playbook rules.
-
Review the AI Playbooks tab, which includes actions necessary to finalize contract negotiations.
- Insert or swap pre-approved language from the Playbook. End users can modify the document with pre-approved language to resolve non-standard terms or skip - which requires an additional clause approver (recommended).
- If you are a designated clause approver and AI Assist is enabled, locate the clause you want to update, click Redline. Ironclad will review your contract and provide a few versions of suggested redlines, displayed from least to most changes. Each suggestion displays the proposed change and a detailed explanation as to what changed, why it is important, and how Ironclad’s suggestion resolves the detected problem. To use a suggested redline, click Insert into document.
-
Request exceptions for non-standard terms. To request an exception, locate the clause you want to request an exception for and click Request an exception. Select an approver from the dropdown and add an explanation as to why you’re requesting an exception. Click Save. You can check the approval status at any time in the Approvals section of the workflow.
You can check the approval status at any time in the Approvals section of the workflow. This includes ad-hoc clause approvals and clause approver configurations at the Playbook position level. Similar to document approvers, you can modify the approver and send reminders. To view the specific clause assigned to the approver, click Go to Clause.
