This article will walk you through how to cancel a workflow in Ironclad.
Use Case
A user wants to cancel a workflow that's no longer needed, either from the workflow's own overview page or individually/in bulk from the Dashboard.

You can cancel workflows in two ways:
Directly in the workflow's overview page.
On the Dashboard (individually or in bulk).
Once you cancel a workflow, you'll still be able to view it.
Warning: If a workflow is cancelled, this action is irreversible and a new workflow must be started. If you think that a workflow could ever be resumed, we recommend that you pause it. Learn more about pausing and resuming workflows.
Cancel a Workflow from the Overview Page
To cancel a workflow from its overview page:
- Click on the workflow you want to cancel. A summary window displays on the right.
- In the summary window, click Open overview page indicated by a two arrows icon.
- Click the three stacked dots located next to the workflow’s name.
- Click Cancel workflow.
- Add a comment describing why you are canceling the workflow .
- Click Cancel Workflow.
The workflow owner is notified when their workflow is canceled unless they're the one canceling it.
Cancel Workflows from the Dashboard
To cancel a workflow from the Dashboard:
- Click the Dashboard tab, and then select the workflow(s) you want to cancel.
- Click Change Status > Cancel. This cannot be undone.
- Add a comment describing why you are canceling the workflow.
- Click Cancel Workflow.
The workflow owner is notified when their workflow is canceled unless they're the one canceling it.
View a Canceled Workflow
To view a cancelled workflow:
In your Dashboard search bar, click Filters to expand the filters bar.
Click the Stage filter.
Select Canceled from the dropdown menu.
