The Text property type corresponds to Short Response, Paragraph, Dropdown, Multiple Choice form questions.

Short response form questions allow single line text inputs. Use a short response question when you want a user to enter short text.

Paragraph
Paragraph form questions allow multiple lines of text input. Use a paragraph form question when you want a user to enter longer text, such as descriptions or additional terms.

Dropdown and Multiple Choice
Dropdown and multiple choice form questions allow you to populate contract properties from a set of well-defined possible values.
The only difference between dropdown and multiple choice questions is how they are displayed on the form: dropdown questions are answered by selecting one or more options from a dropdown menu, whereas multiple choice questions are answered by selecting one or more radio buttons. See the examples below.

Yes/No
The Yes/No property type corresponds to Yes/No form questions.
Yes/No questions are multiple choice form questions with preset yes and no values. The values of Yes and No are not editable.
Yes/No form questions are searchable in Repository. This searchability is the key difference between creating a Yes/No property with a Yes/No form question instead of creating a text property backed by a Yes/No multiple choice form question.

Email form fields allow you to collect email addresses from your users. Ironclad helps detect invalid emails.

Address
The Address property type corresponds to Address form questions.
Address form fields allow you to collect addresses from your users. Your users cannot submit a form if their address is missing a required field.

Number
The Number property type corresponds to Number form questions.
Number form fields allow you to collect numerical values from your users. Non-numeric values are not allowed. You can build conditions based on the number value entered.
Numbers to Words Filter
After you add a number property, you can adjust how that number appears in your document.
- Find the property on your document and right-click on it.
- Click Format and select your formatting preference. The property is automatically converted to your selected format in your launch form. For example, 100 can be automatically updated from “100” to “100th”.

Monetary
The Monetary property type corresponds to Monetary form questions.
Monetary form fields allow you to collect monetary amounts from your users. Your users can select their currency type and enter their value. You can build conditions based on the currency and monetary values entered.

The Date property type corresponds to Date form questions.
Date form fields allow you to collect dates from your users. Your users can type in a date or select a date from a calendar. You can build conditions based on the date values entered.

The Duration property type corresponds to Duration form questions.
Duration form questions allow you to collect and measure the timeframe in which an event occurred.

File
The File property type corresponds to File Attachment form questions.
File attachment form fields allow you to collect additional files from your users. Your users’ files are uploaded to cloud storage at the path configured at Archive > File Management > File Paths > Uploads. The files are also attached to the contract record when the workflow is archived.
The following file types can be uploaded for file attachments that are not included in the signature packet:

- ".doc"
- ".docx"
- ".jpeg"
- ".jpg"
- ".png"
- ".gif"
- ".xls"
- ".xlsx"
- ".csv"
- ".ppt"
- ".pptx"
The following file types can be uploaded for file attachments included in the signature packet:
- ".pdf"
- ".doc"
- ".docx"
File property types cannot be used across workflow configurations. For example, if you created a property called “Exhibit” with type File, that property is only available in that local configuration. If you want to use “Exhibit” in another workflow configuration, you will have to create it again.

Related Record
The Related Record property type corresponds to Related Record form questions.
Related records enable you to connect workflows to one another with a sibling relationship. You cannot connect two active workflows together. You can only select a completed record.
Contract family property types — Related record, Parent record, Child record — cannot be used across workflow configurations. For example, if you created a property called “Parent MSA” with Parent Record ad the type, that property will only available in that local configuration. If you want to use “Parent MSA” in another workflow configuration, you will have to create it again.

Parent Record
The Parent property type corresponds to Parent form questions.
A parent record enables you to connect workflows to one another with a parent-child relationship. A contract can only have one parent. You cannot connect two active workflows together. You can only select a completed record.

The Child Record type corresponds to Child Record form questions. Corresponds to Child Record form question.
A child record enables you to connect workflows to one another with a parent-child relationship. A contract can have multiple children. You cannot connect two active workflows together. You can only select a completed record.
