Summary
This article walks you through how to consolidate duplicate conditions.
Use Case
Classics Inc. has the same approval rule in several contract workflows, each with its own local condition. Their team consolidates the matching conditions into one global condition, and Ironclad updates the affected workflows to use the shared rule. They can then manage the rule in one place.

| Permissions | To manage and edit global conditions in Conditions Manager, you need administrator access or membership in a group with the Global Conditions Manager = Yes permission. |
Before You Begin
- Identify at least two conditions with identical rules. The condition names do not need to match.
- Conditions that are used together in the same workflow configuration can’t be consolidated.
- If a selected condition contains a nested local condition, make the nested condition global first.
Consolidate Duplicate Conditions
- Click on your profile icon located in the top right corner of Ironclad. Navigate to Company Settings > Conditions Manager.
- Select the checkboxes for the local conditions you want to consolidate.
-
Click Consolidate.
. - Review the number of affected workflows, then confirm the consolidation. If the conditions you’ve selected have different names, you’ll have the option to select one or rename the condition entirely.
- After the operation completes, confirm that the affected usages now appear on the consolidated global condition.
