Use Case
At Classics Inc., legal operations updates the EMEA Reviewer policy when the EMEA team needs access to a new workflow or when a team no longer needs access to confidential records. They review the policy changes and confirm that the affected users still have the correct seat type.

To access and manage Groups and Access Policies, you must be an administrator. Policy-Based Access Control is generally available for new customers. Existing customers must complete a migration before they can use this feature. If you’re an existing customer, contact your Ironclad representative or Support to learn more about the migration process and timeline. |
Before you begin
- Review the policy’s current groups and access rules.
- Decide whether the change should apply to every group assigned to the policy or only to one group.
- If the policy is a System Policy, duplicate it before making changes. System Policies are read-only.
Edit an Access Policy
- Click on your profile icon in the top right corner, and then select Company Settings > Access Policies. All of the Access Policies in your company’s instance are displayed.
- Use search or filters to find the policy you want to edit.
- Click on the policy, and then click Edit.
- Update the policy name or description, if needed.
- Update the groups assigned to the policy, if needed.
- Add, edit, or remove access rules.
- Review each rule’s resource type, actions, and scope.

Review the resulting seat type for the applied groups.
- In the policy, go to the Applied Groups section.
- Review the seat type shown for each applied group.
- Confirm that the changes produce the expected seat type.
- Click Save.
