Use Case
A legal team receives a third-party MSA and wants to prepare a first-pass redline. A reviewer opens Contract Review Agent, adds the agreement, and uses approved playbooks, relevant precedents, or both to inform suggested edits. The reviewer then evaluates each recommendation before finalizing the contract.

What Is Contract Review Agent?
Contract Review Agent is the new name for Ironclad Jurist. It helps legal teams review, analyze, and redline contracts. The name and entry points changed, but existing Jurist users retain their access, permissions, and contract review capabilities.
Contract Review Agent is one of the specialized agents that Ironclad Agent can access. You can either go directly to Contract Review Agent or describe the contract review task you want to complete in Ironclad Agent.
Contract Review Agent uses the context you provide to produce review recommendations. For example, you can use an approved playbook to apply your organization's preferred positions, add relevant precedent agreements to reflect language accepted in similar negotiations, or use both sources together.
Contract Review Agent Features
Use Contract Review Agent to:
Generate a first-pass redline using approved playbooks, relevant precedents, or both.
Identify risks in an agreement.
Draft or revise contract language.
Review a counterparty's changes to your organization's standard agreement.
For redlining, suggested edits appear as inline tracked changes. Each suggestion includes an explanation, a risk level, and the supporting source so that a human reviewer can evaluate, accept, reject, or revise it.
Access the Contract Review Agent in Ironclad
There are four ways you can access the Contract Review Agent once it's enabled for your organization:
- Ironclad Agent Home Page: Select Open in Contract Review Agent at the bottom of the home page.
- Within Workflows: Open Contract Review Agent from the workflow options while working on a contract.
- Microsoft Word: Open Contract Review Agent directly from the Microsoft Word Add-In.
- Ironclad Agent Chat: Ask Ironclad Agent to complete a contract review task, and it'll route you to the Contract Review Agent automatically.
If Ironclad Agent isn't enabled for your organization, but Contract Review Agent is, you can still access it by clicking Contract Review Agent in your main navigation header.
