This article walks you through how to troubleshoot content control issues in Ironclad Editor.
Use Case
Classics Inc. uploads a counterparty contract to Ironclad and notices duplicate redlines or preview issues in Ironclad Editor. They remove the content controls in Microsoft Word and upload a new document version before continuing the review.

Symptoms
Ironclad Editor does not fully support Microsoft Word content controls. They may cause the following issues:
Duplicate redlines
Document preview or editor issues
Document Compare errors
Smart Merge or other document merging issues
You must remove content controls from the document in Microsoft Word before uploading the document back to Ironclad.
Remove Document Controls and Upload New Document Version
Removing content controls does not remove existing redlines or edits from the document.
Download the latest version of the document from Ironclad.
Open the document in Microsoft Word.
Make sure Editing is enabled in Word.

Select the entire document:
On Windows, press Ctrl + A.
On Mac, press Command + A.
Right-click the selected content and select Remove Content Control or Remove Content Controls. To remove only specific content controls, highlight the relevant section and repeat this step.
Save the document.
Upload the document to Ironclad as a new version.
