Jurist for Microsoft Word brings AI-powered redlining and contract analysis directly into Word so reviewers can work in the tool they already use without switching between systems. As one of the first people testing this experience end to end, your feedback will help shape what ships to customers.

Ironclad Jurist for Microsoft Word Walkthrough
In this section, we'll go over the steps for using Jurist in Microsoft Word:
- Open your contract in Microsoft Word, and select the Ironclad icon located in the top-right to open the Word Add-In overview panel.

In the overview panel, select Open Jurist.

Once Jurist is open, you can choose to Redline with Playbook, or type your instructions in the chat box.

Redline with Playbook provides a guided prompt that runs a full playbook-driven redline on the open document.
- Note: You'll be prompted to provide a playbook. Upload one from your device or select an existing playbook from your Playbook Library.
- Open-Ended Chat can be used to ask questions about the contract and generate AI analyses.

If you chose to Redline with Playbook, Jurist analyzes the document against your selected playbook.
- Review the suggestions. When analysis completes, Jurist returns a list of suggestions. You can expand any suggestion card to see the full details. Each suggestion includes:
- Clause name and a brief description of the issue.
- Risk level: High, Medium, or Low
- Reasoning: Why this suggestion was made.
- Sources: Playbook rules that drove the suggestion.

Optional: Navigate to the Clause in the contract for more context as you review suggestions.
- Note: You can click the location pin icon inside expanded suggestions to jump directly to the relevant clause in your Word document. The corresponding section will be highlighted in the document so you can review the original language in context.

Once you've reviewed a suggestion and want to apply it, click Insert Redline. The entire highlighted section in the document will be replaced with the suggested language.
A confirmation message will appear once the insert is successful.
