You can launch a renewal workflow directly from the contract you’re reviewing, allowing you to efficiently start the process without navigating away or re-entering data for Related or Parent records. The renewal workflow automatically pre-populates the Related Record and Parent Record, and any fields mapped from those records are filled in as part of the standard mapping flow.
The renewal workflow is automatically connected to the contract family through the Parent Record. If the Entity field is mapped from a Related Parent or Child Record, the entity will also be populated during launch. This ensures that contracts are associated with the correct entity.

Start a Renewal Workflow from the Associated Record
- Open the completed workflow you want to start a renewal from.
- Click the three stacked dots located next to the workflow’s title, and then click Start renewal workflow.
- Select the renewal workflow you want to launch. By default, the workflow selector pre-selects the most recently used renewal workflow.
- The Launch Form displays and is pre-filled with information from the original contract based on configured record fields and mappings:
- If a Related Record field exists, the original contract is populated.
- If a Parent Record field exists, the parent contract is populated.
- Any properties mapped from Related, Parent, or Child records are populated through the normal mapping flow.
- If the Entity field is mapped, it will be populated during launch.
Note: You can map the Entity field from Related, Parent, or Child records for any workflow launch, not just renewal workflows.
