Jurist is a legal AI assistant that can draft, edit, summarize and conduct research for any general counsel, lawyer, or legal team. It uses an LLM and Conversational AI to provide you with an experience similar to chatting virtually with a colleague. It is highly trained in legal terminology, processes, and contracts.
Jurist integrates seamlessly into your Ironclad CLM workflows, eliminating the need to switch between platforms during contract review. Open, review, and redline any contract, then save changes back to active workflows with a single click, streamlining your entire contract management experience.
Use Case
At Classics, Inc., the Sales Operations team is finalizing a new vendor agreement. During the review stage, the Sales Manager notices that several clauses need to be updated to reflect the company’s latest pricing terms. Instead of downloading the document or leaving Ironclad, they open the agreement directly in Jurist from within the workflow.
Once the document is open, the manager uses Jurist to redline key sections and ask follow-up questions, such as “Update the payment terms to Net 45” or “Summarize key termination clauses.” Jurist quickly applies the edits and provides clear explanations of each change.
When the updates are complete, the manager saves the revised contract back to the active workflow with one click, allowing Legal to review the changes instantly. This seamless integration saves time, reduces context switching, and ensures that all contract edits stay within Ironclad’s controlled environment.

Open a Document to Review in Jurist
You can open any workflow in the Review step directly in Jurist. To do this, click Review in Jurist from either the Dashboard or the workflow page (top right corner).
A modal displays where you can select which documents to open. Choose the documents you want to review, then click Open in Jurist to begin. (You can select multiple documents. Each document will open up in a separate window within Jurist.)

Edit Document in Jurist
You can use Jurist to review and edit your documents directly within Ironclad. Guided prompts or custom prompts help you analyze your contract’s terms, while you can make edits, redline sections, and review or accept changes. For a full overview of Jurist’s capabilities, see Use Jurist.
Save the Updated Document to the Workflow
Once you are finished reviewing and updating the document using Jurist, you can save the updated document back to the workflow. Click Save to Workflow located in the top right corner.
A modal displays where you must select the document you want to save back to workflow, as well as add a comment describing the changes you made. This comment is logged in the Activity Feed.
Once you click Save, you can exit the tab with Jurist and go back to your workflow. Refresh your browser and you will see the new document and comment logged in the Activity Feed.
