DocuSign
The Signer Reassignment feature can be activated within your workflow to allow a signer to reassign their signature request on the Sign step, instead of needing to return to the Review step. Reassignments cannot be done within your workflow, but instead, take place through your eSignature provider.
1. Under "Other Actions" there will be an option to "Assign to Someone Else"
2. A popup dialog will appear asking for additional information on the new signer. After reassigning, the initial signer will receive an email where they still have access to the doc but are unable to sign.
3. Going back to the workflow you'll notice that in the signer table there is a new row with the information of the reassigned signer. Also, the previous signer now has a status of "Reassigned." There will also be a new event in the "News Feed" documenting the signer's reassignment.
When the reassigned signer signs the document, Ironclad will automatically update the workflow information to reflect the new signer name and email address.
4. The initial counterparty signer will also receive a copy of the signed document.
HelloSign
Note: If HelloSign is your eSignature provider, you must have an API level of Gold or higher in order to access the reassignment feature.
If the signer goes into signing mode, they can reassign using the menu icon in the top left corner. This will display a dropdown menu with an option to "Reassign"
1. There are three ways to reassign in HelloSign
- In the email request, there's a "reassign" link
- When opening up the document, there's a banner at the top with a link to "ASSIGN TO SOMEONE ELSE"
2. A popup dialog will appear asking for users to input information on who should be reassigned the signature requests.
3. After reassigning, the initial signer will receive confirmation that the reassignment was successful. However, they will NOT have access to the document. Going back to the workflow you’ll notice that in the signer table there is a new row with the information of the reassigned signer. Also, the previous signer now has a status of “Reassigned”. There will also be a new event in the News Feed documenting the signer's reassignment.
When the reassigned signer signs the document, Ironclad will automatically update the workflow information to reflect the new signer name and email address.
4. The initial counterparty signer will also receive a copy of the signed document.
AdobeSign
Note: AdobeSign differs from other signature integrations in that the signature reassignment feature comes by default for all signature requests and does not need to be enabled by Ironclad.
