Overview:
The Ironclad platform offers advanced dashboard search capabilities to help you find the agreement workflows you are looking for with greater flexibility across those workflows Assigned to you, those in Active status, and those in Completed status. The dashboard is where you navigate old, current, and new workflows.
Typing into the search bar allows you to search across workflow titles. Like search engines you’re used to (e.g. Google Search), Ironclad allows partial searches as you can see in the example below. Note that searching for “Fre” will yield workflows with “Freda” and “Fred” but searching for “eda” will not yield “Freda”. )

Start Workflow
To generate a workflow, you will simply click the Start Workflow button and select your desired contract or flow from the dropdown menu.
If you are looking for a more robust search, you can use the Filters dropdown at the right of the search bar to access five search fields: Contract Type, Assigned To, Participating In, Creator, and Status.
You can choose search terms for one or multiple fields and Ironclad will search your agreement workflows to find matches.
Dashboard Search Filters Explained:
Contract Type:
Search through the list of contract types you have access to in Ironclad and narrow your search results down to only those contracts.
Assigned To:
Choose from your list of colleagues to find workflows assigned to them. This is a common use-case for when a colleague is changing roles, going on vacation, or leaving the organization so you can identify and re-assign the workflows they are assigned to.
- Note 1: You can only search for employees of your company, not counterparty/other organization employees.
- Note 2: You cannot search for employees that have been removed from your Ironclad company account.
Participating In:
Choose from your list of colleagues to find workflows they have access to and are participating in as an Owner, approver, or signer.
Creator:
Find a workflow based on who created/launched it.
- Note: You cannot search for employees that have been removed from your Ironclad company account.
Status:
Find workflows that are in a specific stage of the contract lifecycle. Common use-cases for this include:
- A department head searching for workflows in the Sign stage to remind the necessary signers to take action.
- A legal team member searching for workflows in the Review stage that require their review and approval.
Reminder: You can search across one or multiple criteria. In the example below, a member of Potrero Labs, Inc. searched for all Mutual NDAs in the Sign step with ‘ABC’ in the title. In this case, since there no search terms specific for Assigned To and Creator, Ironclad is searching across all assignees and creators.
Pro Tip: The Filters button is green rather than the usual grey because there are filters turned on/activated.
Happy searching!
