Webhooks let Ironclad push updates to you in real time. For example, if you want to post a celebratory message in Slack every time the sales team closes a deal, a webhook can trigger that message whenever the corresponding workflow type is completed. You can deactivate and reactivate webhooks directly in Ironclad. You can also subscribe to notifications for webhook failures.
Deactivated Webhooks
Ironclad automatically deactivated webhooks that fail consistently, helping keep your workflows running smoothly without manual intervention. Webhooks are deactivated (but not deleted) when recipients reject them at least 100 times over 7 consecutive days without any successes.
If Ironclad deactivates a webhook, you can reactivate it. However, repeated failures will cause it to be deactivated again. In most cases, deactivation means something is broken on the recipient’s end, so simply reactivating the webhook will not resolve the issue until the underlying problem is fixed. If you have questions about deactivated webhooks, contact Support for assistance.
Use Case
At Classic Inc., a technical admin notices that a webhook sending Slack notifications for closed deals is failing repeatedly. To stop the errors, they go to the API tab in Ironclad and deactivates the webhook.
The webhook remains in the system and can be reactivated later once the issue is resolved.
