The Audit Log provides near real-time visibility into auditable events within Ironclad. It can be used to detect and investigate suspicious activity, hold users accountable for key actions, reconstruct security incidents, and maintain a documented trail for external audits or certifications such as SOX, GDPR, and HIPAA.
Event logging starts when Security & Data Pro is enabled for your organization. Audit data from before enablement is not backfilled.
Audit log reports can be downloaded as CSV files for deeper analysis. Results can be filtered by the date (when the event occurred), actor (the user involved), or event type (the activity recorded). As new features are released, additional auditable events will be added to the available filters.
Event logging starts when Security & Data Pro is enabled for your organization. Audit data from before enablement is not backfilled. You can retrieve earlier logs via the SDP API or Snowflake Data Share.
Use Case
At Classics Inc., an employee needs to verify when the permissions for the Finance group were last updated. They open the Audit Log to investigate.
Using the filters at the top, the employee narrows results to:
- Date: The past 30 days
- Event Type: Update group permission
The report shows exactly when group permissions were changed and which user made the update. To document this for internal audits, the employee clicks the Download button in the top right and exports the report as a CSV file. The exported file provides a clear, verifiable record for Classic Inc.’s compliance team.
