AI suggestions help streamline entity tagging by analyzing your contracts and matching them to existing entity profiles. Using AI and OCR technology, Ironclad detects entity names, alternative names, and points of contact, then applies the correct tags to records. To use these features, you must first create your entities in Ironclad, since AI suggestions do not generate new entities. This reduces manual work, improves accuracy, and makes your contracts fully searchable on the Dashboard.
Use Case
The legal team at Classics Inc. receives hundreds of historical contracts from a recent acquisition. Manually tagging each contract to the right entity would be time-consuming and error-prone.
Instead, the team uses Smart Import with AI suggestions. As the contracts are uploaded, Ironclad AI analyzes each document and matches it to the correct entity profile, such as WonderWeb Technologies, based on names, alternative names, and listed points of contact. The contracts are automatically tagged to the right entities, and the documents become full-text searchable on the Dashboard through OCR.

Before You Start
To use AI suggestions, you must first create your entities in Ironclad. AI suggestions do not create new entities from detected data.
Use AI Suggestions to Detect Entities
After you create your entities, use Smart Import or run AI detection to apply entity tags to records. Ironclad AI matches and tags the correct entity based on the available profile data. This includes the entity name, alternative names, and the point of contact name.
