Use Jurist
- Click the chat icon located in the top right corner of Ironclad.
- Enter your instructions or click Prompts to view and select a prompt from the prompt library. To learn more about the Prompt Library, refer to Customize Your Prompt Library.
- To attach files, you can use one of two methods:

- Green: AI Redlines
- Red: User Redlines
- Purple: Third-Party Redlines

Edit in Word
Ironclad’s Microsoft Word integration allows you to open and edit documents using Word. Once you close Word, edits are automatically reflected in Jurist. It can take up to 30 seconds for you to see your edits sync back to Ironclad.
Use Online Mode
Jurist features an online mode that leverages the latest legal knowledge from trusted sources to gather context before generating responses.
In online mode, Jurist includes in-line Bluebook citations where relevant.
To use online mode, enable "Access the web" located beneath the input box.
Suggest Changes from Precedent
While Jurist's built-in capabilities allow you to edit agreements to match preferences or make them more favorable, the precedent-based suggested changes feature takes this a step further. This feature enables Ironclad AI to learn from past negotiations and automatically conform redlines to previously negotiated positions.
-
Add the files you want to use as precedent in the Precedent Documents section at the bottom of the app. This works best with contracts, but other documents specifying position preferences will also work. You can add up to 10 precedent documents.
Note: Content within tables may not be processed as effectively as regular text. -
Highlight the clause or paragraphs you want edited based on the precedent in your uploaded document and click Suggest edits based on precedent. Jurist analyzes the positions specified in your precedent documents, comparing them to the content in your current document, and generating edits based on each precedent.
-
You can send multiple clauses or paragraphs for editing simultaneously. While Jurist is generating changes for one selection, you can highlight a different clause or section and request suggestions for that as well.
-
Jurist generates redlines simultaneously for each uploaded precedent document. When viewing redlines, you can scroll to see changes based on different documents.
