Rename Workflows

When ‘Use typed signature value as signer name’ is enabled, if a signer signs with a different typed signature value than the current signer name in the request, the signer name will be updated to match the typed signature value.

This will not constitute a reassignment in the activity feed of the workflow. This only applies to typed signature values, not uploaded signature image values, and is only for signature tags, not initials.

On the Ironclad Signature signing page, updating a signature tag with a typed value will update the signer name both where the signer name tag appears on the document and in the UI context panel.

Use Case

At Classics Inc., legal teams often send contracts to multiple stakeholders who may enter their names differently than what was initially entered in the workflow request. For example, using a middle initial, nickname, or corrected spelling.

With “Use typed signature value as signer name” enabled, when a signer types a signature that differs from the current signer name, the system automatically updates the signer name to match the typed value.
