Unlike most of the icons on the navigation menu, clicking the bottom icon opens a whole new menu: the Profile & Settings menu. That's right: when you click that bottom circle, you've got options!
These are the things that you see on the Profile & Settings menu:
User Profile
The User Profile screen is where you can edit your name and email address. Tip: If you change your email address, PactSafe will send you an email to confirm that you have access to the new email, so type carefully!
You can connect your PactSafe account to your Google account from here. If you connect to a Google account, then PactSafe will check to see if you're logged in to Google in your browser the next time you log in. Connecting to Google can make logging in to PactSafe quicker and easier, plus you won't have to remember another set of credentials.
If you're an API user, you can find your API keys on the User Profile screen.
As you'd expect, this is also where you can change your PactSafe password. To change your password, click the Password tab at the top right.
Settings
The Settings screen has areas for Account Settings and Site Settings. An account can have multiple Sites that might, for example, represent different business units, apps, or other areas of business activity where it makes sense to keep the PactSafe operations separate.
The Account Settings are:
-
ID: This ID is set by PactSafe and you can't edit it.
-
Name: The account name.
-
Email Reply Information (From Name and From Email Address): These fields are super important because they appear on emails that PactSafe sends on your behalf. You want Signers to trust the emails that come from you so they open them and click the buttons, so choose a From Name and From Email Address that your Signers will recognize and trust. Note: If you set Email Replay Information in the Site properties, PactSafe will use that information instead of the Account information for emails from that Site.
-
Company Name: The name of your company. This name appears in the footer of emails, as required by law.
-
Company Address (Street Address, City, State, and Postal Code): The mailing address of your company. This name also appears in the footer of your emails.
The Site Settings are:
-
ID: The Site ID is set by PactSafe and you can't change it.
-
Access ID: The Access ID identifies your Site to render your Contracts on your website, apps, and other digital forms. You use it in your API calls to PactSafe. Click the clipboard icon to copy the ID to your clipboard.
-
Legal Center: The URL of your Legal Center where all your Published and Public Contracts for your Signers to review. Click the clipboard icon to copy the URL to your clipboard.
-
Name: The Site name.
-
URL: The URL of the company associated with this Site. PactSafe puts a link to this site at the bottom of your legal center.
-
Email Reply Information (From Name and From Email Address): These are the same as the Email Reply Information fields in the Account Settings. If you set information here, PactSafe uses it in emails from this site. If you don't set information here, PactSafe uses the information from the account instead.
-
Allow users to override the email reply information when sending a signature request? switch: If you toggle this switch on, then people sending Signature Requests from this Site can override the Email Reply Information with a From Name or From Address they choose. Tip: This can be a good thing to do when the Signer is more familiar with the sender's name than with the company name because the Signer is more likely to trust an email from a name they know.
-
Acceptance Language: This is the phrase the Signer sees when accepting Contracts. By default, the text is
I understand and agree to #{{contracts}}.
PactSafe replaces the #{{contracts}} placeholder with the actual Contract name(s) when rendering this phrase to the Signer. Tip: If you enter a new phrase, you can use the #{{contracts}} placeholder the same way. -
Inherit company information from the parent account? switch: If you toggle this switch on, then the company information fields below become inactive. The Site just uses the same Company Name and Company Address that you set up in the Account Settings.
-
Company Name: If you toggle the Inherit company information from parent account? switch off, then you can specify a Company Name for this Site here. It's used the same way as the Company Name for the account.
-
Company Address (Street Address, City, State, and Postal Code): Just like the Company Name, just with the address.
The How to update your Site properties document gives you more information on Site properties.
Live Support
When you click Live Support, a whole new panel flies out on the right side of your screen. It has a variety of options, such as:
-
a link to start a chat with PactSafe
-
a quick search of the knowledge base
-
a link to the product roadmap
-
a feedback form
-
a quick system status
Resources
Clicking Resources opens up the Help Center panel. Here you'll find options for:
-
Knowledge base: opens a table of contents for a help knowledge base.
-
Submit a Ticket: shows you a form where you can create a new support ticket.
-
Release Notes: opens the release notes so you can see what's changed in PactSafe recently.
-
Our Blog
-
Application Status: shows a quick system status for the PactSafe UI, REST API, Activity API, and for outbound emails. There's also a link to a status page with deeper information.
-
API Docs: opens the PactSafe Developer Hub, where you can find beacoup docs for developers using PactSafe.
Developer Docs
This is the simplest option on the menu: Developer Docs is just a shortcut to the PactSafe Developer Hub. Head over here if you're a developer building automations or integrations with PactSafe.
Sign Out
This is just like it sounds: this menu option signs you out of PactSafe. Tip: You don't need to sign out of PactSafe to change Sites. If you want to access a different Site that you have set up in PactSafe, just click the Change Site button (two crossing arrows) just above the Profile & Settings button on the left navigation bar.
