This topic will provide you with an overview of Ironclad Clickwrap snapshots. This includes snapshots, snapshot locations, and the command builder.
Snapshots
If you ever need to prove that someone agreed to an embedded contract, a big part of the court’s decision will come down to how the agreement was visually presented. Snapshots enable you to keep track of the screens your customers encounter when accepting Embedded Clickwrap agreements.
Snapshots can be captured for almost any online experience using automation, our API, or with manual uploads if necessary. When a counterparty accepts your agreement, their acceptance can be associated with the Snapshot captured closest to the time of acceptance.
Snapshots are stored on Snapshot Locations. Locations represent each unique experience your counterparties may see when accepting an embedded Clickwrap and can keep track of browser experiences, like desktop web browsers, and native app experiences, like mobile apps.
Use Case
Customers review and accept WonderWeb Inc. Terms & Conditions on the WonderWeb website and mobile iOS app Their terms and conditions are in English only, and are updated no more than once a month.
Because Counterparties can view the agreement on a desktop-optimized website, mobile-optimized website, and native app, WonderWeb creates 3 Snapshot Locations.
Because WonderWeb updates the agreement no more than once a month, they configured the locations to capture Snapshots once a month.
When a user views and accepts the terms and conditions on any of the experiences, the most recent Snapshot for that location is associated with their acceptance.
Use Case
WonderWeb Inc. has expanded and now offers Terms & Conditions in French, Spanish, and Japanese! All 3 existing experiences are supported, so WonderWeb creates an additional 12 Snapshot Locations.
The Snapshot features available to you are based on what you purchased. If you have further questions, submit a request with our Support Team.
