AI Playbooks

Ironclad Playbooks allows Legal teams to create dynamic tools that assist users directly in Ironclad as they read, analyze, and edit documents during the contract review and negotiation process. Legal teams can specific preferred terms and pre-approved fallback language across all standard business contracts. This helps Legal teams safely and consistently scale conducting first line contract reviews to knowledgeable business teams, and only bringing in Legal for for complex negotiation discussions or when pre-approved terms cannot be used.

This feature must be enabled in your Ironclad account. If you are an administrator and would like to enable Playbooks enhancements for your Ironclad instance, click on your name located in the top right corner of Ironclad. Navigate to Company Settings > Settings > Enable Playbook enhancements powered by Ironclad AI.

Open clause approval requests now prevent a workflow from moving to the Sign step until approval has been provided. If needed, administrators can override clause approvals on behalf of approvers.

AI Playbooks: Alerts on Document Preview 

The goal of Playbooks powered by Ironclad AI is to alert end users that their documents require changes or approvals per the workflow's Playbook rules. Ironclad now alerts users on the Document preview page that their documents require attention. This is in addition to the existing alerts on the Ironclad Editor and workflow pages.

Counterparty Search Improvements

Ironclad Insights: Multichart Reports

Multichart reports allow you to add up to 8 charts in a single report, in various different layouts. This enables you to report on different data points simultaneously.

Support for eSignature Integrations in Public Workflows

You can enable your eSignature integration to be triggered when a counterparty launches a public workflow. You can configure eSignature as a method of acceptance in Workflow Designer just like you would on an internal workflow. When your counterparty completes the public launch form, if the workflow goes straight to signature without approvals or review, the counterparty receives a message to lookout for the eSignature request in their inbox.

Clickwrap Define Custom "Effective" Date Rangers for Templates API

Using the Clickwrap API, you can now modify a template version’s effective date range. A template’s effective dates are displayed in legal centers and throughout the web app. Here are some things to keep in mind:

1. Effective and Effective Until dates can be modified by the API for any template version. The Effective date can also be modified in the Classic experience for the most recent template version.
2. By default, the effective date range starts when the version is published, and ends when the next version is published.

Advanced Conditions

You can now write conditions with formulas.You can also in-line reference your existing conditions within your formulas. This applies to formula fields and formula conditions. Conditions are rendered as blue tags with the new Condition icon.

Legal Centers in the New Clickwrap Experience

Legal Centers are now available in the new Clickwrap Experience. We’ve updated the look, feel, and some of the functionality to make Legal Centers more powerful and easier to manage. Here’s what’s new:

1. You can now clone a Legal Center. Cloned Legal Centers are created in a Draft state, and duplicate most customizations including template order, visibility, HTML, and CSS. This is only available in the new experience.
2. Custom contract orders, HTML, and CSS are not available in the new experience, but are still available in the Classic experience.
3. Custom JavaScript is no longer publicly available in order to align with security best practice. Submit a request with our Support Team with any questions.

Company Logo Displayed in Public Workflow Launch Forms

Salesforce Bug Fix: Resolve Error from Removing Item in Dynamic Table

In workflows that used dynamic tables and formula fields, “Refresh from Source” triggered errors when the updated Salesforce metadata reduced the number of items in the Ironclad dynamic table. This error has now been resolved, and “Refresh from Source” correctly updates dynamic tables.

Salesforce Bug Fix: Correctly Store Number Fields in Ironclad

We realized that we were incorrectly storing number fields imported from Salesforce as strings in our database. This bug caused an issue for customers with conditional formulas based on number fields mapped from Salesforce. We are correcting this issue for all customers, regardless if you are functionally impacted by this issue or not.

We updated all the Salesforce Workflow Launch Configurations so that these fields are correctly stored as numbers in our database and match the input from Salesforce.

There is no impact to in-flight workflows and no admin action is needed at this time. We apologize for this oversight on our part and thank you for your patience. Please submit a request with our Support Team if you have any questions.

Unified Repository

You can view and interact with executed Clickwrap agreements in your Ironclad CLM Repository. 

• By default, when you enable Unified Repository for your site, all of your Clickwrap agreed events (acceptances) are synced into your CLM Repository, but you can disable record syncing for individual templates as needed.
• By default, Clickwrap records use the Clickwrap record type, but you can change the record type for individual templates as needed.

Download Expired Records Update (PWF, Sign, Streamline)

You can no longer download records for agreements that expired or were rejected by the counterparty. Rejected or expired records downloaded using the API are watermarked to indicate that they are not legally binding. This applies to customers accessing records generated with Public Workflows, Sign (no longer sold), or Streamline (no longer sold).

Support Child Combinators in Clickwrap Command Builder

Command builder now uses child combinators between elements in “Wait for Selector” and “Click” commands. Child combinators separate two selectors. When used, only elements that are direct children of the selector are matched.
For example:

Webhooks have occasionally failed to retry. To address this, we have updated our retry rules to the following:

• We are limiting up to 72 attempts to retry
• Each retry will give you 30 seconds to respond to the webhook callout

Expanded Formula Builder

The Formula Builder has been expanded and now offers a multi-line editor. The expanded modal provides you with more room to build longer, more complex formulas. Within the modal, you can press [enter] to insert a new line, enabling you to compose and organize formulas across multiple lines.

Snapshot Location URLs Respect Case Structure

URLs provided in snapshot locations now respect case structure. Previously, Snapshot location URLs were automatically transformed to lower case which could prevent command builder from navigating to the correct page for case-sensitive URLs.

Launch CLM from Clickwrap Sites

Users with connected CLM and CW environments can now open CLM from their Clickwrap site. While this doesn’t provide SSO or shared credentials, it does eliminate one URL you need to remember or bookmark.

Workflow Library

The Workflow Library provides a number of pre-built contract workflow configurations, based on industry best practices, allowing you to get a head start on your contracting journey without having to build your own contracts or workflows. By using the Workflow Library, you can reduce your configuration time to days by simply choosing the workflow you wish to use, reviewing its details, then copying it to your environment.

Configure Snapshot Locations to Use Reduced Network Activity Sensitivity
You can now configure Snapshot Locations to use reduced network activity sensitivity when automatically generating Snapshots. When enabled, any Command Builder “Load” instructions will consider a page “loaded” once there are no more than 2 network connections for at least 500 ms. If disabled, Command Builder will consider a page “loaded” when there are 0 network connections.
While many pages do not need to use reduced sensitivity, this can be helpful in pages that perform long-running background tasks like long polling.

Turn Tracking

Turn Tracking allows you to signal and filter which party – Internal or Counterparty – is reviewing the draft document. Within a workflow, you can change the turn manually at any time, as well as at key actions that intersect with the document, such as Share, Update Document, or Download.

On the Dashboard, Turn Information is available in filters and columns, allowing you to incorporate that information into the views you build and share. The number of turns, as well as total time with each party, is automatically saved as part of each record in the Repository.

“Generate Report” Export Emails Link Instead of File

The “Generate Report” function on the Dashboard emails a link to the export file, instead of attaching the export file directly to the email.

New Clickwrap Dashboard

We’ve made some updates to the main Clickwrap Dashboard to make it more actionable. Customers on the new experience can view utilization information including:

• the number of published vs draft Clickwrap Groups and Templates

• the number of published Snapshot Locations

• the number of remaining Snapshot Locations.

Templates and Clickwrap Groups are still available.This is only available in the new Ironclad Clickwrap experience.

Snapshots Enhancements: Define Multiple Custom Headers in Command Builder

You can now define up to 10 custom headers in Snapshot Location Command Builder instructions. Custom headers allow you to bypass security measures when automatically generating Snapshots.

Update to Downloaded Templates when Using Translations and Browser Locale

We’ve updated how we handle downloaded records of acceptance when browser locale is used to dynamically show a translated template. When you download a record for a signer with a non-english browser locale, the translated version of that template is downloaded. Previously, the default (English) version of the template was always included in the downloaded record of acceptance. The translated body could be downloaded separately through Legal Centers, but not through the app.

Note that, in some cases, the user’s browser locale may not control the language of the template viewed and agreed to. For example, if the template is presented with a scrollable container or scrollable contract with form. It is still up to the customer to dynamically display the correct translation based on browser locale.
