This article will walk you through how to manage views. This includes how to create, modify, share, and export custom views. To learn more about views and how they function in Ironclad, refer to Dashboard Views Overview.
Views are a combination of saved filters and columns that allow you to easily access relevant workflows without having to manually search each time.
The Views panel is located on the left. You can open or close it by clicking the Hide sidebar icon indicated by two arrows.
Next to each view’s name in the view header, there is a count of workflows in that view. This number reflects the number of workflows shown in the table at that moment, including when filtered by search.
Create a Custom View
You can create a custom view in two ways: either start with a blank view and add filters, or configure filters first and then create a view based on those parameters. Both methods produce the same result but offer flexibility depending on your needs.
- To create a blank view:
- Click Add View.
- Enter a name for your view. Your new, blank view is located under the Custom section of the Views sidebar.
- Add filters to your view.
- Click Save and update view. Your custom view is updated.
- To create a view based off of your already configured filters:
- Click the Save button, located next to the filters at the top.
- Click Save as new custom view.
- Enter a name for your view. Your new view is located under the Custom section of the Views sidebar.
Modify a View
You must be an Admin or Standard user to modify a view.
All custom views on the Ironclad dashboard can be modified. While you can also modify a preset view, you only have the option to save your updates as a new view or to reset the view to its default state. You can modify your custom view and save your changes to your current view, or you can save your changes as a new view. You can also discard your changes and reset your view to when you last saved it.
-
Under the Custom section, select the view you want to edit.
-
To modify your view, you can add filters or columns.
-
If you are modifying a custom view, click Save and select one of the following:
-
Save and update view: Applies the changes to the current view.
-
Save as a new custom view: Saves the changes as a new view and keeps the current view as it was.
-
-
If you are modifying a preset view, click Save and select from one of the following:
-
Revert to default: Resets the preset view to its default state and discards all changes.
-
Save as a new custom view: Saves the changes as a new view and keeps the preset view as it was.
-
Reorder Views
You can reorder your custom views to further tailor your Dashboard. You cannot reorder the preset views.

- Click Reorder views.
- Drag and drop the custom views to rearrange their order.
- Click Submit. The order of your custom views is updated in the sidebar.
Rename a View
You can rename your custom views. You cannot rename preset views.
- Locate the view you want to duplicate and click the three stacked dots next to its name.
- Click Rename view.
- Rename the view and click Save. The view’s name is updated.
Duplicate a View
You can duplicate your custom views. You cannot duplicate preset views.
- Locate the view you want to duplicate and click the three stacked dots next to its name.
- Click Duplicate view. The view is duplicated and displays in the Custom section of the Views sidebar.
Share a View
You can share a copies of your custom views with other Ironclad users. When you share a link with other users, they see a pop-up that reflects the name of the view and allows them to modify it before saving the shared copy. Since you send a copy of view and not the actual view, any changes that you make to your view after you share a link are not reflected in the receiving user’s copy.
Note: Views are overruled by permissions. If your receiving user does not have access to the same workflows as you, they will not see them in the view. Also, if the receiver does not have access to the properties that were used as a filter or column in the view, the view link will not work for them.
- Locate the view you want to export and click the three stacked dots next to its name.
- Click Share. A link displays that you can copy and send to another user.
- Alternatively, if you are in the view, you can click the three stacked dots next to the Columns dropdown and click Share.
Export a View
You can export the search results of your views as a CSV. If you want to include specific contract properties in your export, create a property column. This enables you to manage what is included in your document.
- Locate the view you want to export and click the three stacked dots next to its name.
- Click Export.
- Alternatively, if you are in the view, you can click the three stacked dots next to the New button and click Export view.
- In the Data column dropdown, select whether you want to include the Visible columns or All columns.
- Select whether or not you would like to include Approval Requests, Turn History, and Workflow Actions.
