This article will walk you through how to leave comments in the Activity Feed. This includes how to @mention other users.
You can track your progress and communicate with other participants in a workflow by commenting in the Activity Feed. When you leave a comment, an in-app notification is send to all of the workflow participants, and an email is sent to anyone who is @mentioned. Users can respond directly to that email, or they can reply in the workflow. If the user replies to the email, Ironclad includes that reply as a new comment in the Activity Feed.
Leave a Comment in the Activity Feed
- In the Activity Feed, click into the Message your team box.
- Enter a comment and click Send.
@Mention Another User in the Activity Feed
When you leave a comment, an in-app notification is send to all of the workflow participants, and an email is sent to anyone who is @mentioned. Users can respond directly to that email, or they can reply in the workflow. If the user replies to the email, Ironclad includes that reply as a new comment in the Activity Feed.
If the person you mention is not a participant in the workflow you’ve commented on, you have the option to add them to the workflow by clicking Add as a participant located next to their name in the dropdown.

If you want to mention another Ironclad user directly in the internal Activity Feed, type ‘@’ and the user’s name, or click the ‘@’ located at the bottom of the comment box. You can mention multiple people in a single comment. If a name doesn’t appear when you are typing, they have not joined Ironclad.

If you want to mention a user in Ironclad Editor, leave a comment @mentioning the user. Click Save as New Version. The user is mentioned in the Activity Feed with the new version of the document.

If you are mentioned in a workflow, you will receive an email. You can respond to your colleague within the Activity Feed, or you can reply directly to the email. If you reply to the email, your response will be added to the Activity Feed, but you cannot @mention someone in an email reply. To continue an email thread and have it reflected in the Activity Feed, you should reply to the email as usual in your email client, rather than commenting in the Activity Feed.
