This topic will walk you through how to use sandbox mode. This includes how to publish a workflow in sandbox mode.
Sandbox Mode enables you to test workflows, integrations, and features without impacting your primary production instance, and without requiring you to log into a different account (i.e. preview or demo). It gives you a safe, easy way to test your Ironclad account.
You can use sandbox mode to test & optimize:
- Workflows
- Dashboard
- Repository
- Record upload
- SFDC integration
- API keys
Use Sandbox Mode
Required Role and Permissions: None.
The feature cannot be disabled based on individual user permissions.
- If you are in Workflow Designer, click the three stacked dots located in the top right corner. Click Open Sandbox. A banner displays at the top of the page and remains while you are in sandbox mode.
- If you are in the Dashboard or Repository, click your profile icon located in the top right corner. Click Open Sandbox. A banner displays at the top of the page and remains while you are in sandbox mode.
- Test your Ironclad instance. Changes made in sandbox mode do not impact your production instance. Notifications are still triggered, but are identified as sandbox notifications so your business partners know it is just a test. All sandbox mode signature requests go through Ironclad’s e-signature tool, regardless of the e-signature integration you have configured.
- To exit sandbox mode, click Exit Sandbox or Return to Editing located in the top right corner of the page.
Publish a Workflow in Sandbox Mode
Note: You cannot unpublish workflows that are published in sandbox mode.
You can publish a workflow in sandbox mode so that your users can launch and test it in their own sandbox.
- In production mode, click the Workflow Designer tab.
- Create a new workflow configuration, or select an existing one.
- Click the three stacked dots located in the upper right corner and then click Open Sandbox. Sandbox opens and takes you to the launch form for the selected workflow.
- Fill out the launch form and then click Submit. The workflow is published in the sandbox and is now available to all users in your company when they are using sandbox mode.
- Users can access the workflow by entering sandbox mode and clicking Dashboard > New > Start Workflow.
