This topic will walk you through how to lock questions in Workflow Designer. This includes how to lock individual questions and tables.
Locked questions ensure that users cannot manipulate questions in Ironclad. The only way to update these questions is through an external source, such as Salesforce. There are no permissions based access to editing locked questions — when a question is locked, it is fully locked.
Lock a Question in Workflow Designer
Locked questions ensure that users cannot manipulate questions in Ironclad. The only way to update these questions is through an external source, such as Salesforce. There are no permissions based access to editing locked questions — when a question is locked, it is fully locked.
- Click on the Workflow Designer tab and select the workflow configuration you want to modify. Click on the Create tab.
- Click on the question you want to lock, and select Locked.
- If you have already set a default value for the question, a warning message appears. If you have mapped a Salesforce value in the Salesforce Workflow Launch Configuration settings for your workflow, it prevents your workflow from launching. The workflow can still be published, but an error happens if any attempt to launch the workflow overrides previously set default values. You also cannot map that question to Salesforce properly, and an error appears in the Salesforce Workflow Launch Configuration.
Lock Tables
There are often scenarios where you want to pull information into your tables from outside sources like Salesforce.
- Click on the Workflow Designer tab and select the workflow configuration you want to modify. Click on the Create tab.
- Locate the table section.
- To lock the entire table and prevent users from changing the information, select Locked at the top of the table's section.
- To lock individual questions, click on the question and select Locked.
During Review, you can update any information that was pulled into the table incorrectly.
