This topic will walk you through how to lock fields in Workflow Designer. This includes how to lock individual fields and dynamic tables.
Locked fields ensure that users cannot manipulate metadata fields in Ironclad. The only way to update these fields is through an external source, such as Salesforce. There are no permissions based access to editing locked fields — when a field is locked, it is fully locked.
Lock a Field in Workflow Designer
Locked fields ensure that users cannot manipulate metadata fields in Ironclad. The only way to update these fields is through an external source, such as Salesforce. There are no permissions based access to editing locked fields — when a field is locked, it is fully locked.
- Click on the Workflow Designer tab and select the workflow configuration you want to modify. Click on the Create tab.
- Click on the question you want to lock, and select Locked.
- If you have already set a default value for the question, a warning message appears. If you have mapped a Salesforce value in the Salesforce Workflow Launch Configuration settings for your workflow, it prevents your workflow from launching. The workflow can still be published, but an error happens if any attempt to launch the workflow overrides previously set default values. You also cannot map that field to Salesforce properly, and an error appears in the Salesforce Workflow Launch Configuration.
Lock Dynamic Tables and Dynamic Fields
- Click on the Workflow Designer tab and select the workflow configuration you want to modify. Click on the Create tab.
- Locate the dynamic table section.
- To lock the entire table and prevent the removal or addition of rows, select Locked located at the top of the dynamic table section.
- To lock individual fields, click on the question and select Locked.
